Black Friday is the day when the trademark US consumerism takes center stage for its annual manic, full-frontal exposure around the globe. Here is what it looked like around the US…

“A loose network led by African Americans in the film and arts world has emerged from the fog of tear gas to call for a quiet riot in response: a boycott of Black Friday shopping.” source
This plan; crafted by the rich, spoilt Hollywood crowd will only hurt those financially less fortunate. If you want to call a boycott don’t choose the biggest markdown day of the year. Not very bright!
.
FYI: Stores lose money on Black Friday! Every shopper who stays home for a Black Friday boycott puts money in the large retailer’s pockets. The only way to hurt the big retailers is to convince a large number of people to not spend at all or to greatly reduce spending during the holidays.
.
It only hurts those less well-off. If one insists on a boycott – then shop locally and support your own community. Unfortunately it’lll take a long time to get Fergusion back on it’s feet since outsiders were permitted to destroy it.
.
And will these ultra rich celebrities (leaders and politicians) really want to forgo their share of stocks, bonds, dividends, marketing packages and endorsement packages by encouraging consumers not to consume their products when they discover (if they don’t already know) how it will effect their pockets…don’t think so. They say they’re anti-capitalist – yet we haven’t practiced capitalism for decades – the nwo robber barons switched to “access to market share” some decades back hence the invasion of every country on earth and the gradual increase of monoplies in order to exclude competition. Bottomline: if you can stand the crowds – shop ’til you drop on black Friday…
