New advert by Organizing for Action, an Obama campaign group, accidentally   features footage from a British train

A woman supposed to represent a low-paid American is riding on a London train

President Barack   Obama‘s political action group, Organizing for Action, is out with a   new advert urging Congress to raise the national minimum wage for millions   of low-paid Americans.

Set to rising music, the 30-second commercial features a medley of images of   hard-working Americans going about their day.

There’s only one problem: one of those “hard-working Americans” is   in fact a London Overground commuter.

A woman featured in the   advert’s opening seconds is riding aboard the London train system as   she looks wistfully out the window and clutches a coffee cup.

Over her shoulder, a map shows the London Overground’s eastern-most stations   of New Cross and Surrey Quays.

The commuter train is suspiciously empty, leaving the distinctive brown and   yellow patterned seats clearly visible.

An Organizing for Action (OFA) official told The Telegraph: “It was brought to our attention that there was an error in the stock footage and it is being corrected immediately, this does not change the fact that Americans deserve a raise.” The video was later taken down on the web,   although versions with the British scene continued to run online.

The group is the successor organisation to Mr Obama’s successful re-election   campaign, Obama for America, and advocates for the president’s agenda   without being formally linked to the White House.

Assuming the woman aboard the London Underground train is over 21, she would   be eligible for Britain’s   national minimum wage of £6.31 or $10.30.

The American   minimum wage currently stands $7.25 (£4.44) but Mr Obama is pushing   Congress to “give a America a raise” and lift it to $10.10   (£6.18).

“If you put in a hard day’s work, you deserve decent pay for it,”   Mr Obama said last week as he promoted his proposal in Maryland. “That’s   a principle everybody understands, everybody believes.”

The measure faces opposition from Republicans in Congress, who argue that it   would discourage businesses from hiring.

The people who make this stuff up are elites from Washington DC, who wouldn’t know the inside of a ”commoner’s”, okay then, commuters subway train, if it bit them in the azz since they only ride on the upscale inner DC trains.

Earlier today one had to sign in to watch the strap-hanger video ad. on youtube – currently on youtube it reads - “private” and ”sorry”, iow, it’s now censored. But never mind that colossial mistake – here’s yet another recent rollout…
