After terrifying John Major, Sir John Kerr has moved on to well-connected boardrooms and the heart of Bilderberg

On the sun-drenched patio of the Marriott Hotel in Copenhagen sat the chancellor of the exchequer. He sat quietly and listened carefully as a distinguished older gentleman gave him what appeared to be an intense and barely-interrupted 25 minute briefing. George Osborne sat and listened, while we stood and watched.

The body language was fascinating. George was tense, leaning in, petitioning. The man opposite was physically relaxed but full of gestures and explanations. George was there to listen hard and get up to speed. Apart from a two-minute speech at the end, he opened his lips barely a dozen times, and half of those were simply to have a sip of his fruit punch.

George Osborne fruit punch

The gentleman with his back to us, slouching comfortably in his chair, is an important, extremely well connected, but not very well known individual: Sir John Kerr. Otherwise known as Baron Kerr of Kinlochard. The current vice-chairman of Scottish Power.

At Bilderberg, Sir John always seems to be at the centre of things: when Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands emerges onto the patio, it’s Sir John who leads her out. When no one else will have a drink with Richard Perle, Sir John steps up:

Richard Perle John Kerr

Patting shoulders, pressing the flesh, ushering people together: Bilderberg is his domain. Sir John is a member of the Bilderberg Group’s inner circle – the steering committee – and probably its heaviest smoker. The only thing with more tar in it than Sir John’s lungs is Peter Thiel’s hair.

Here’s a lovely portrait of Sir John, enjoying a pre-dinner cigarette on the riverfront terrace. I think it shows showing how delighted he is to see the photographers camped outside the conference.

Sir John Kerr

Sir John used to be one of the UK’s top civil servants: he was head of the diplomatic service, and served as ambassador to the US and the EU.

One of the architects of European integration, he was in charge of the secretariat that drew up the first draft of the European constitution, and famously hid under the table during the Maastricht negotiations, passing up handwritten notes to John Major. Out of sight, but right in the centre of power.

Major likened Sir John to Machiavelli in his memoirs, and was clearly terrified of the man. He memorably said: “When Kerr comes up to you and asks for the time, you wonder why me and why now?”

After wrapping up his career in public service, Kerr hopped gracefully into the City, and was until recently deputy chairman of the most Bilderbergian company of all, Shell Oil. As well as his role at Scottish Power he is a board member of Rio Tinto, the multinational mining company.

Half diplomat, half corporate creature, Sir John is the ultimate behind-the-scenes powerbroker – a barely visible fixer, in whom the public and private spheres are perfectly melded. He’s Bilderberg incarnate.

And in the power dynamic between Sir John and the chancellor, Sir John is quite clearly the boss. It’s impossible to know exactly what he was saying during their confab, but I think the gist of it was how high George has to get off the ground when Sir John says “jump”.

Osborne Kerr

Anything higher than that’s fine. Anything less, and he’ll take George’s feet off at the ankles.

After a time, a couple of conference organisers came over to the pair and gave them a heads-up about the cameras. Sir John ushered George inside to continue their meeting, while out on the patio other Bilderberg briefings carried on apace.

Over at one end of the terrace, the Swedish foreign affairs minister, Carl Bildt (left), was being given some international advice by a member of the international advisory board of Goldman Sachs, Professor Victor Halberstadt.

Bildt Halberstadt

While at another table, the head of the IMF, Christine Lagarde, was discussing fiscal policy with the economist Kevin Warsh, who’s on the board of logistics giant UPS.

Walsh Lagarde

The man in the middle of the shot, hidden by Warsh’s helpful hand, is Paul Achleitner, the chairman of Deutsche Bank and board member of Bayer pharmaceuticals. He’s at Bilderberg to make sure that whatever Lagarde does at the IMF, it’s for the best. The best for Deutsche Bank and Bayer pharmaceuticals.

That’s what’s so great about Bilderberg: besides the larger briefings, there are all these quiet opportunities for politicians and policymakers to be set on the straight and narrow by international bankers and corporate leaders.

About 10 minutes after guiding Osborne into the blessed privacy of the hotel, Sir John re-emerged and had a few terse words about the press cameras with one of the conference organisers.

John Kerr Organiser

That look he’s giving us – you can see why it gave Major the jitters. It could cut tin. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say he doesn’t like us. Which is a shame, because he’d be a useful friend to have. He can get you free tickets to the Rio Tinto Christmas party, or an invitation to Bilderberg – but you’d have to behave.

It only remains to be seen if Osborne declares his half-hour one-to-one with Sir John in his quarterly ministerial declaration of meetings with external organisations. He definitely had the meeting. That much we could see. And Sir John is entered on the official conference participant list as “Deputy Chairman, Scottish Power” – which definitely counts as an external organisation.

What we witnessed wasn’t the pair of them bumping into each other in a corridor, it was a serious chat. And it happened to be at least partially transparent to us: so will it make it into George’s transparency data? We’ll know in about four months. And if it does, then what about all the other meetings he’s had during his stay in Copenhagen? And what about the ones at last year’s meeting in Watford?

He can’t just say “Chatham House rules” and expect a free pass. That’s like making up a rule in a playground game that suddenly makes you invisible. “If I say ‘Chatham House rules’ you can’t see me!” Sorry, George, we can see you perfectly well. You should have had your meeting with Sir John in the hotel sauna. Or did Princess Beatrix have it block-booked?

Oh, and if you’re reading this on your way back to Westminster, Justine Greening, the same applies to you. Let’s find out if the ministerial transparency declarations mean anything at all.

In his declaration for the period covering last year’s Bilderberg conference, Osborne covered the three-day meeting with heads of banks and giant corporations with the words: “June 2013, Bilderberg Conference, General discussion.” Ever so slightly better than nothing, but not by much. A vague, unattributed “general discussion” utterly fails to describe what goes on at Bilderberg.

What happens at Bilderberg is official government business, and the meetings that take place here shouldn’t be treated any differently from any other ministerial meetings.

And if it’s not official business, why have so many of the ministers brought ministerial aides? Why did Bildt bring along the deputy director-general at the Swedish foreign affairs ministry, Jessica Olausson?

Jessica Olausson

And if Sweden’s deputy director-general at the ministry for foreign affairs is attending the conference, how come her name is not on the participant list? Is she just in Copenhagen to carry Carl’s newspapers? Is that her, striding across the Marriot patio, or have I imagined the whole thing? It’s not impossible I’ve gone bananas, I haven’t slept much the last three nights: too busy staring at photos of Sir John Kerr and his acolytes. It’s enough to turn the mind.

Not to mention the stomach. Although that could be the jar of marinated herring fillets I’ve just eaten. I wouldn’t rule them out – that’s all I’m saying.

Interesting that Lord John Kerr was mentioned since I was just looking him up a couple of months ago during the Bundy Ranch rebellion. I found Kerr’s name in “Who Owns The West” – Rio Tinto and after doing a few minutes research discovered he’s a Rothchild agent. One will find at least 1 Rothchild agent on every powerful moneyed board that’s worth mentioning.

Note: Karl Bildt was nominated as one of the top ten lobbyists promoting the entry of Ukraine (and their mines) into the EU. He was also very involved in the Balkans (and their mines) as was Princess Mabel and her lover at the time.

All new movement regarding Rio Tinto occurred when Obama got into office:

Bottomline: One wonders who the lobbyists really are here. Are our governments the real lobbyists to these nonelected oligarchs? We’ve been living under the illusion of a democracy for centuries since one finds that the Royal Houses, Cecil dynasty, and their aristocratic offshoots continue to rule.

India: Grassroots Activism Builds Wall Against Western Imperialism

7287764d378ca80f44d7a97681332289_largeMarch 14, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – In the Times of India article, “Farmers’ groups give wish list to parties,” it states:
More than 100 farmers’ organisations from about 14 states on Thursday presented a charter of demands to political parties for their considering while preparing the manifesto for the Lok Sabha elections.
The groups demanded guarantee of minimum income for farm households, ecologically sustainable farming, shift to organic farming and control of rural communities over agricultural resources, including land, water, forests and seeds. They also demanded that open-air release of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) in the garb of field trials be stopped.
Regarding the disturbing trend of suicides sweeping across India’s agricultural sector, the report states:
Citing census data, farmers’ representatives said on an average, one farmer commits suicide every half an hour. Everyday, hundreds of farmers are quitting agriculture.

“The average monthly income of an overwhelming majority of Indian farmers is far less than what their average monthly expenditure is, making it difficult for most farm households to make their ends meet,” said Kavita Kuruganti, convenor for Alliance for Sustainable and Holistic Agriculture.

Clearly, the agricultural sector of India is failing, and it is not because it has not resigned itself to the devices and designs of foreign big-agri corporations, but precisely because it already has. In rebuttal to the growing backlash against corporations like Monsanto, Western media outlets have proposed that the farmers are wrong about why they claim they are killing themselves, and suggests instead it is both neither as serious as portrayed, and certainly not the result of big-agri’s role in monopolizing India’s agricultural sector.

A 2011 report published by the Center for Human Rights and Global Justice (CHRGJ) claimed the sale of expensive genetically modified seeds to rural Indian farmers was a key factor contributing to the growing suicide crisis.

“Multinational agribusiness corporations took advantage of India’s new market globalization … by aggressively promoting the introduction of genetically modified seeds in Indian agriculture,” said the report.

But then counters by claiming:

But in 2008, the International Food Policy Research Institute, an alliance of 64 governments, private foundations, and international and regional organizations that aims to end hunger in the developing world, reached an entirely different conclusion.

“It is not only inaccurate, but simply wrong to blame the use of Bt cotton as the primary cause of farmer suicides in India,” said the report, stating that the introduction of Bt cotton in India had actually been effective in producing higher yields and decreasing pesticide usage by nearly 40%.
The credibility and objectivity of the “International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPR),” particularly in regards to the use of Bt cotton in India, is compromised by the fact that its donors list is dominated by organizations of which Monsanto and other GMO purveyors fund directly.
For example, the “Better Cotton Initiative” which funds the IFPR is in turn backed by big-agri giant Cargill. Another IFPR donor is Crop Life International, which in turn is funded by BASF, Bayer, Dow AgroSciences, DuPont, Monsanto, Syngenta, and others. The laundering of big-agri cash and support through proxy organizations to conceal their involvement only further raises suspicion regarding the integrity and veracity of the IFPR’s contradictory report – a report that just so happens to define reality in terms that suits big business.
And of course, the National Post itself appears compromised, with its article parroting, almost verbatim, the official rebuttal posted on Monsanto’s official website regarding Bt cotton. Offered up in a post titled, “Is Bt or GMO Cotton the Reason for Indian Farmer Suicides,” Monsanto also claims “multiple societal issues are contributing to an unacceptably frequent occurrence of farmer suicides in India,” just as the National Post does – and to no one’s surprise, references the very report the recipient of Monsanto’s laundered funding published.
And while big-agri attempts to deflect attention away from the impact of genetically modified crops, the big-agri chemical racket even without the use of GMO has resulted in the ruination of farmers nationwide not just in India, but in nearby Thailand as well. Were big-agri’s miracle cures as good as they claim, farmers worldwide would be enjoying unprecedented, undeniable prosperity, rather than constantly living upon a razor’s edge, and more often than not falling into the abyss all together.

Elections Pushed Ahead in Ukraine, Obstructed in Syria, So Mass Murder Can Continue – the West’s Weaponization of Democracy

May 28, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – Early polls began for Syria’s presidential election, as the country begins turning the tide against foreign-backed terrorists and restoring order throughout much of the country. It was impossible for the Western media to cover up tens of thousands of Syrians around the world queuing up in impressive numbers to cast their votes in support of both President Bashar al-Assad and other candidates participating in the election.

Despite eagerness to vote, the US, UK, EU, and others have decided to condemn the elections and even go as far as obstructing overseas polling.

In Reuters’ article, “Tens of thousands of Syrians abroad vote in early poll,” it reported:

Expatriates and those who have fled the war were casting their ballots at dozens of Syrian embassies abroad ahead of next week’s vote inside the country that opponents have dismissed as a farce as the fighting rages in its fourth year.

Several countries that oppose Assad, including France, have blocked the voting but Syrian government media said people were still able to participate in many countries.

Reuters would continue with anecdotal, unsubstantiated reports to undermine the legitimacy of the elections before reporting:

The European Union has said holding an election “in the midst of conflict, only in regime-controlled areas and with millions of Syrians displaced from their homes would be a parody of democracy, have no credibility whatsoever, and undermine efforts to reach a political solution”.

“Holding elections in the midst of conflict, only in regime-controlled areas” being a “parody of democracy” and therefore having “no credibility whatsoever” might have been a credible assessment by the European Union if it hadn’t just fully endorsed as credible, elections in Ukraine held under precisely the same conditions. Indeed, the EU along with the US and rest of NATO, hailed recent elections in Ukraine as a success and immediately recognized pro-Western billionaire oligarch Petro Poroshenko as the new “president” of Ukraine.
However, the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe’s (OSCE) own report cited as proof that elections were “in line with international commitments and with a respect for fundamental freedoms,” in fact reveals the exact same conditions inside of Ukraine the EU claims make the Syrian elections a “parody.”
In the report, it admits that elections were not held at all in Crimea and nearly no voting occurred in the eastern most oblasts of Donetsk and Luhansk. In the west where the only semblance of voting took place, the OSCE report admits opposition parties were regularly harassed, assaulted, and even driven from campaigning before the May 25 polls. And even as polls took place, the regime in Kiev was overseeing ongoing military operations in the east of the country that included armored vehicles, helicopters and even air raids.

What the OSCE describes during Ukraine’s recent elections is quite a “parody of democracy.” In fact, the elections in Ukraine are more of a parody in documented reality than what the EU claims are taking place in Syria.

Video: Ukrainian presidential candidate Oleg Tsarev was savagely beaten outside a TV studio after an interview for the Ukrainian talk show, ‘Svoboda Slova.’ Systematic and violent intimidation across the west of Ukraine made it difficult if not impossible for opposition to the Nazi regime in Kiev to campaign.
In Syria, the legitimate government of the country, which has ruled Syria for decades, is steering the nation back into order after years of deadly destabilization organized from abroad. The victor of the conflict and the territorial integrity of Syria is not in question. In Ukraine, elections were organized by violent usurpers who ousted the elected government in a bloody coup spearheaded by literal Neo-Nazis. They then launched military campaigns against the rest of the country in a bid to consolidate power before organizing rushed elections for the sole purpose of legitimizing their otherwise illegitimate unelected grip on power.

However, the regime in Kiev was unable to consolidate power before May 25 and in fact, the country is so divided, operations in the east look more like a foreign military occupation than internal policing. The EU’s decision to uphold Ukraine’s elections is an attempt to lend Kiev badly needed legitimacy ahead of continued and more intensified efforts to consolidate power. That the EU in turn is not only condemning Syria’s elections, but actively blocking Syrians abroad from voting, illustrates the overall lack of legitimacy of the European Union itself. It also calls into question the myriad of institutions it uses to prop up such self-serving, biased policies.

And while the EU’s hypocrisy swings wildly across the two most extreme ends of the spectrum, there is one common denominator between its position regarding elections in Ukraine and Syria. Both positions, for and against elections, help perpetuate campaigns of mass murder backed by the West in pursuit of its extraterritorial interests. In Ukraine, the Kiev regime’s assault on the nation’s east is fully backed by the West with many members of NATO already providing material support to ongoing operations. In Syria, since 2007, the West conspired to use sectarian extremists both inside Syria’s borders and beyond them, to overthrow the government in Damascus. In 2011, this conspiracy was fully realized in a deadly conflict that has killed tens of thousands and left parts of Syria in ruins.
By preventing elections from moving ahead in Syria that would grant President Bashar al-Assad a renewed mandate or place into office another candidate who had rejected armed militancy, the West can continue portraying the conflict as a popular uprising, continue destabilizing the country, and perhaps even successfully push forward the “political transition” (read: regime change) it had sought since at least as early as 2007.
The West has managed to weaponize humanitarian aid in Syria, and now, even the concept of voting as a means to perpetuate bloodshed and geopolitical instability. While the West cites an ever increasing list of threats that endanger global stability it must rise to confront, it is clear that they themselves have become the masters of turning anything and everything into a source of contention and protracted, deadly violence – even elections.

Image: Homs has suffered devastation, but residents vow to rebuild.

May 16, 2014 (Tony Cartalucci – NEO) – The city of Homs has finally been retaken by the Syrian Arab Army. The scenes of devastation left behind by nearly 3 years of fighting are surreal, but residents – who have begun returning in small numbers – vow to rebuild the city. Fighting concluded when the Syrian government granted a ceasefire to encircled militants occupying the city’s center.

An estimated 2,000 militants evacuated the city to rural positions where government forces will be able to engage them. Lacking the cover Homs’ urban terrain provided them, and without the well entrenched positions and logistical lines they had established throughout fighting that began in 2011, militants stand little chance of continuing their campaign of violence, let alone returning to Homs.

Published on Apr 7, 2014 – New Eastern Outlook ( http://journal-neo.org/ )

Indeed, Homs – considered by the West who has sponsored the militants, as the “capital of the revolution” – is a symbol of what is to come across the rest of Syria. Similar ceasefires will alleviate urban centers that had been invaded and occupied by militants – many of whom are not even Syrian – and push the fighting into Syria’s rural regions where those that insist on continuing hostilities will be systematically eliminated by Syrian security forces.

Homs is the third largest city in Syria – its liberation from foreign militants is a significant turn in the still ongoing conflict. Aleppo, the largest city in Syria, still suffers under heavily contested occupation by foreign militants emanating from and receiving support by NATO-member Turkey.

As Syria approaches the end of wide-scale conflict that began in 2011 under the cover of US-engineered political destabilization and foreign-sponsored terrorism, it will be important for the Syrian government to recognize political opposition who had refrained from subversion and violence to address grievances and help move Syria forward and beyond attempts to divide and destroy the nation. However, attempts by the West to claim Syria is “divided” are patently false. Had Syria been truly divided, it is unlikely the government in Damascus would have weathered the nation-wide conflict, which included several sorties by Israeli warplanes directly on Damascus, as well as high-level assassinations, economic warfare, and a steady stream of billions of dollars in arms and equipment over Syria’s borders in the hands of foreign terrorists, facilitated by NATO and its regional partners.

The war in Syria is not over, but a light can be seen at the end of the tunnel. Syria’s ability to thwart NATO’s ambitions within and along its borders will translate to a loss of legitimacy and momentum elsewhere for NATO in the region and around the world. Syria and its allies must continue to resist and more importantly, successfully rebuild the nation stronger both domestically, and in regards to its ties internationally, once the conflict is concluded.

Lessons Learned

Other nations must take note of both Syria’s successes and initial failures. This includes Syria’s inability to communicate its side of the story to global audiences, relying almost entirely on Russia’s RT, Iran’s PressTV, and a growing alternative media that did include many capable Syrians. Both Syria and other nations around the world resisting foreign destabilization, must develop professional media networks able to communicate to international audiences to undermine if not entirely block attempts by foreign interests to hijack and control their respective national agendas.

Additionally, as seen in Egypt, attempts to use “pro-democracy” protests as cover for widespread armed terrorist campaigns, must be confronted immediately and decisively. Syria’s hesitation before and during 2011, in fear of attracting international condemnation, allowed terrorists a window of opportunity to build up their logistical and tactical capabilities behind the cover of so-called opposition movements like Syria’s Muslim Brotherhood. It could be argued that in 2011, global opinion would have prevented such a decisive move by Damascus and opened the door to early foreign intervention as was seen in Libya. Today, however, Syria’s sacrifices have opened the door for other nations to move without hesitation against similar ploys.

The West is Overreaching

The so-called “Arab Spring” in 2011 was the beginning of one of the most ambitious hegemonic geopolitical reorderings in modern history. However, in an age where word spreads at the speed of light, engineered subversion peddled as popular unrest possessed a very limited lifespan, one the West grossly exceeded in its attempts to reorder nations from Libya, to Syria, Iran, and even Russia and China. The result was the very public exposure of the West’s regime-change industrial complex, complete with faux-NGOs, its human rights racket, and the inner workings of its covert military operations everywhere from Libya to Syria, and even snipers brought in by Ukraine’s “Euromaidan” mobs.

The West committed so much along such a broad arch that should it fail, it stands to lose everything. From Libya to Ukraine, it appears indeed the West is failing. Just as other hegemonic powers have done in the past in their bid for global domination, the West’s current posture is one of overreaching politically, strategically, and even culturally. The growing backlash is compounded by the West’s inability to concede defeat, or even partial defeat and withdrawal. Just as Adolf Hitler’s Blitzkrieg, the West’s global arch of chaos will end inevitably in failure with a host of enemies following it when it finally has no other choice but to retreat back to its own doorstep.

The West’s failure in Syria is not an isolated event. Under the scrutiny of an increasingly aware global audience, what the West has attempted in Iraq, Libya, and now Syria, will cost it immensely when next it tries to subvert the political order of a foreign nation. In Ukraine now, this is demonstrated very clearly.

For a nation like Syria, the West’s well-earned distrust across the remainder of the globe will translate into an extra layer of protection during the closing stages of its current battle, and against future attempts to subvert and destroy its sovereignty and existing political order. The light is at the end of the tunnel for Syria, but to ensure it, and other nations emerge out the other end, they must take to heart the lessons learned from the US-engineered “Arab Spring” and begin laying the foundation of a multipolar world capable of not only resisting unipolar ambitions, but stopping them entirely before they lay waste to yet another nation.

Horrifying! Nonconsensual Government Experimentation on Hundreds of Premature Babies

by Steven Ertelt | Washington, DC | LifeNews.com | 6/3/14

A shocking report from the new conservative news web site The Daily Signal is making the waves around the Internet today.

When it comes to premature babies, parents already face tremendous pressure to have abortions. And when the government comes in and tells parents of premature babies there is a new government study they can be involved with that will benefit babies born well before their normal delivery date, there is a certain level of trust one ought to be able to expect.

But, as the report states, that trust was grossly violated in what is nothing less than nonconsensual government experimentation on hundreds of premature babies.

Below is an excerpt from the report and LifeNews encourages you to read the entire news article:

Just 24 weeks into her pregnancy, Sharrissa Cook gave birth to a critically ill baby boy. Dreshan weighed in at a fragile 1 pound, 11 ounces. He lay motionless in the incubator, connected to tubes and monitors in the neonatal intensive care unit at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital.

“He was so tiny,” Cook recalls. “I was a first-time mom. I didn’t have a clue. I didn’t know what to expect.”

prematurebaby5

It was Oct. 11, 2006. Medical personnel asked Cook, then a 26-year-old single mother, to enroll little Dreshan in a study. She says they described it as a program offering assistance and encouragement to preemies—premature babies—and their families. She readily signed the consent form.

“I remember them telling me they were a support group who would pretty much hold my hand through the developmental process,” Cook says.

But in reality, the study was much more than that. It was a national, government-funded experiment on 1,316 extremely premature infants in which their fate may as well have rested with the flip of a coin.

Other single moms were among those persuaded to sign up their critically ill babies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital describe similar misunderstandings of the study’s purpose.

Bernita Lewis, then a 22-year-old student, says she enrolled her premature newborn, Christian, after medical personnel told her it simply was to gather data such as weight and height.

And Survonda Banks, then 21, unemployed and on public assistance, says someone handed her the consent form on her way in for an emergency C-section at 28 weeks of pregnancy. Banks remembers being told only that it was a way to help her baby, Destiny.

‘Parents Were Misled’

The government-backed study is called SUPPORT, which stands for “Surfactant, Positive Airway Pressure, and Pulse Oximetry Randomized Trial.” The experiment was conducted at 23 academic institutions from 2005 through 2009 under the National Institutes of Health, part of the Department of Health and Human Services.

All three women now say they never would have agreed to take part if they had known the NIH-funded study’s true nature—to randomly manipulate preemie oxygen levels. They discovered that just last year.

Dreshan and Christian are now 7 years old and both struggle with myriad health problems. Destiny died within three weeks. The mothers wonder: Did the experiment contribute to any of the medical problems of their children?

“[Dreshan] was already at a slim chance of surviving; why would I make his chances of surviving more slim?” Cook asks.

Today, nine months after the federal government convened a public meeting to examine the subject, NIH and HHS officials have yet to propose a remedy to avoid a repeat of the controversy that erupted from the multiyear study.

Canada: Quebec Bill Requires Doctors to Kill Patients Via Euthanasia or Refer to One Who Will

$

by Wesley J. Smith | Quebec City, Quebec | LifeNews.com | 6/3/14

Quebec is on the verge–again–of legalizing a radical euthanasia bill.

From the National Post story:

One of the first acts of Premier Philippe Couillard’s new Liberal government was to revive Bill 52, which was nearing a final vote in March when the previous Parti Québécois government called an election. All parties agreed to bring the legislation back at the stage it had been before the election. With final debate set to begin next week, the government said it fully expects it will become law before the session ends June 13.

Parties have agreed to allow a free vote, but a clear majority of the legislature’s 125 members have expressed support for the law that would make Quebec the first jurisdiction in North America to allow physicians to deliberately end patients’ lives.

elderlypatient16In its last iteration, before failing because elections were called, assisted suicide was explicitly outlawed by the bill–meaning that doctors have to do the killing.

You see, Quebec is trying to pull a fast one. The national government controls criminal law, and assisted suicide is banned by Canadian law. But the provinces regulate the practice of medicine. So, Quebec legislators redefine homicide when committed by a doctor at the request of an ill patient as a “medical treatment,” to be called “aid in dying.”

Also, who qualified was very loosely defined–not that restrictive guidelines tend to be followed anyway.

Moreover, the taxpayers will pay for euthanasia since Quebec has a single payer system. It also means that killing will be required to be allowed in every provincial hospital, nursing home, and other such care public facilities.

Also, no conscientious objection allowed! Every doctor in Quebec would have to be complicit in medicalized homicide–either by doing the dirty work him or herself, or referring to a doctor the objecting physician knew had no moral qualms about putting patients down.

Quebec is a pretty left wing place. Instead of protecting the weak and vulnerable–as the left wing did in my day–many of today’s lefties have a bad case of the death culture virus.

When the new bill is tabled, I’ll bring you the all depressing details.

Ruth Nordstrom of Scandinavian Human Rights Lawyers, reports that a lawsuit has been filed against the Swedish Government on the right to freedom of conscience and religion for a midwife who has been refused employment because of her conscientious objection to abortion.

ellinorgrimmarkJönköping County Council’s decisions constitute an interference with the exercise of Mrs. Ellinor Grimmarks right to freedom of conscience and religion under the European Convention on Human Rights, says Ruth Nordstrom, Legal Counsel and President of Scandinavian Human Rights Lawyers. – The County Council has supported the withdrawals of offered job positions as a midwife at three different hospitals, and set up an obligation to perform abortions as a condition for employment as a midwife. This is a requirement that puts persons of a certain religion or other beliefs in a discriminatory position.

The filed lawsuit argues in favour of midwife Ellinor Grimmark and claims that the District Court determines that the County Council acted wrongly by refusing Mrs Grimmark the promised jobs and claims compensation for damages by 80 000 SEK and compensation for discrimination by 60 000 SEK.

Emeritus Professor of Labour Law at Lund University, Mr. Reinhold Fahlbeck, Senior Legal Counsel at Scandinavian Human Rights Lawyers, points out that “if this case is brought to the European Court of Human Rights, Sweden will lose. There is a proper consensus among the Council of Europe Member States to allow freedom of conscience for health care workers regarding abortion and euthanasia and the scope for national deviations is very small in this case.

Roger Kiska, Senior Legal Counsel, Alliance Defending Freedom Europe, says “in a civil society, in this day and age, it is shocking that we are denying one of the most fundamental of human rights, the right to conscience. A society has truly lost its way when it excludes someone from the healthcare profession merely because they want to bring human life into the world rather than destroying it. We are confident that the Swedish courts will rule in Mrs. Grimmark’s favour, in favour of decency, and in favour of human rights.”

Judge Napolitano: Obama Impeachment Now “A Very, Very Valid Argument”

“Provided material support to a terrorist organization”
by Steve Watson | Infowars.com | June 3, 2014

Libertarian pundit and and former New Jersey Superior Court Judge Andrew Napolitano has called for the impeachment of the President over the Taliban prisoner release, stating that he has aided the release of the worst terrorists in the world.

“The president may well have committed a federal crime,” Napolitano said, appearing on Fox News Tuesday.

“The president should be impeached for this,” Napolitano added. “In my view, it’s a very, very valid argument that people are going to start talking about.”

Napolitano also noted that compared to Bill Clinton’s Impeachment over “nonsense,” what Obama has done is “far, far more serious.”

“By giving material assistance to a terrorist organization. He knows — ought to have known — that that’s what these guys will do.” Napolitano added.

Napolitano has a point, which is likely why the disgraced outgoing White House Press Secretary Jay Carney refused to even acknowledge that the Taliban is a terrorist organisation during a press conference.

When asked by CNN Chief Washington Correspondent Joe Johns if the President considers himself above the law, Carney quickly fell back on Obama’s “signing statement”, issued when the law in question was first passed. ”To be clear, the 30-day notice requirement has appeared in NDAA bills and in other legislation in this and prior years, and we have repeatedly noted concerns with this requirement, Carney said.

“In signing statements he has — he, the president, has consistently made clear that the executive branch must have the flexibility to act swiftly in conducting negotiations with foreign countries regarding the circumstances of detainee transfers, if necessary. And that was certainly the case here.”

Napolitano noted in a separate appearance Monday “As if a signing statement, a piece of paper he signs at the time he signs the law into existence changes the law. It doesn’t under our system.”

“This is by far the lesser of the two laws that he violated. He and his team violated the federal statute which makes criminal providing material assistance to a terrorist organization. This includes money, this includes ceramic mugs, this includes maps, this includes professional services, and this includes releasing human assets back to a terrorist organization.” the former judge urged.

“President Obama’s Justice Department has successfully prosecuted people for providing material assistance to terrorist organizations and now he himself has done so by letting these five guys loose.” Napolitano added.

“He violated the law by allowing assets to go back to a terrorist organization. You can’t erect a telephone pole, you can’t repair a laptop, you can’t repair a tooth if you’re a dentist for these organizations without violating federal statute.”

Former federal prosecutor Andrew C. McCarthy is in agreement with Napolitano, stating today that “The return of senior terrorists to the Taliban [is] … a high crime and misdemeanor”.

This “soldier” deserted his post to join the Taliban. He’s a coward and a traitor yet Obama and his minions in the media keep calling him a prisoner of the taliban and felt he was deserving of a trade - not a word from obama about the 8 soldiers who lost their lives looking for this a-hole – “fellow battalion member Nathan Bethea wrote in The Daily Beast as many as eight U.S. deaths may have been related to the ensuing search.” usnews.com A top general says as many as 14 soldiers lost their lives looking for him.

Listening to the video one wonders why the liar in chief Obama indicated that Bergdahl is, or is not, being “interrogated” since only terrorists are interrogated and POW’s “debriefed”! It’s obvious Obama knew this American traitor went AWOL so why did he trade 5 top fanatical terrorists to Qatar for a traitor? And why the urgency?

Only when one figures that Obama has been working with terrorists from the getgo does any of it make sense.

And Obama will never be impeached because he’s the first black president (or at least he’s 50% black) just as Clinton didn’t get impeached because he was labeled by the media as being the first black president (100% white). I’m looking forward to the day we really do elect a black president – one who hasn’t been grounded in corporate-marxism or selected by these corporatist marxists.

He looks sad at leaving and since he hates the US why leave…Will his dad now shave his beard and change from the son-dad taliban white matching outfits - is the question(s).

..

Obama – “We have consulted with Congress for quite some time about the possibility that we might need to execute a prisoner exchange in order to recover Bergdahl,” Obama said on a trip to Poland to discuss Eastern European security. “We saw an opportunity, and we were concerned about Bergdahl’s health. We had the cooperation of the Qataris to execute an exchange, and we seized that opportunity.” He added that “the process was truncated because we wanted to make sure we would not miss that window.” washingtonpost.com

.

Does this deserter look sick to you? They waited 5 years and all of a sudden it became a matter of life and death to release him and to surrender 5 fanatical taliban terrorists in his place? Doesn’t make any sense – one wonders what’s really going on… Meanwhile there’s an honorable US soldier in Mexico awaiting release from jail!

Handover video now on youtube:

Published on Jun 4, 2014 – The Taliban has released a video showing American hostage Sgt (sic) Bowe Bergdahl being handed over to US forces in Afghanistan.
The video, emailed to the media, shows him being handed over close to the Afghan border with Pakistan.

Bowe Bergdahl

Note: They were obviously warned not to have him appear looking like a taliban terrorist that we’ve seen in the past so they staged him to look like a peaceful Buddhist. This guy claimed in an old video that he was a captured POW. Now that he’s home, members of his platoon can speak out, and they’re saying he was a deserter who caused the lives of a number of his platoon. Members of the Army top brass are also claiming he was a deserter who caused the death of many soldiers. Yet one of Obama’s administration expert liars, Benghazi Susan Rice, went on television praising the Private as a hero and an honorable soldier…more trouble in the horizon.

Obama attempts to divert us from one disaster to another even worse one and when one adds them up they amount to total and utter chaos. No amount of media lies can cover this devastating and destructive administration.

We Lost Soldiers in the Hunt for Bergdahl, a Guy Who Walked Off in the Dead of Night

.

For five years, soldiers have been forced to stay silent about the disappearance and search for Bergdahl. Now we can talk about what really happened.

.

It was June 30, 2009, and I was in the city of Sharana, the capitol of Paktika province in Afghanistan. As I stepped out of a decrepit office building into a perfect sunny day, a member of my team started talking into his radio. “Say that again,” he said. “There’s an American soldier missing?”

There was. His name was Private First Class Bowe Bergdahl, the only prisoner of war in the Afghan theater of operations. His release from Taliban custody on May 31 marks the end of a nearly five-year-old story for the soldiers of his unit, the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute Infantry Regiment. I served in the same battalion in Afghanistan and participated in the attempts to retrieve him throughout the summer of 2009. After we redeployed, every member of my brigade combat team received an order that we were not allowed to discuss what happened to Bergdahl for fear of endangering him. He is safe, and now it is time to speak the truth.

And that the truth is: Bergdahl was a deserter, and soldiers from his own unit died trying to track him down.

Video screenshot
Nathan Bradley Bethea joins CNN to elaborate on Bowe Bergdahl’s desertion.

On the night prior to his capture, Bergdahl pulled guard duty at OP Mest, a small outpost about two hours south of the provincial capitol. The base resembled a wagon circle of armored vehicles with some razor wire strung around them. A guard tower sat high up on a nearby hill, but the outpost itself was no fortress. Besides the tower, the only hard structure that I saw in July 2009 was a plywood shed filled with bottled water. Soldiers either slept in poncho tents or inside their vehicles.

The next morning, Bergdahl failed to show for the morning roll call. The soldiers in 2nd Platoon, Blackfoot Company discovered his rifle, helmet, body armor and web gear in a neat stack. He had, however, taken his compass. His fellow soldiers later mentioned his stated desire to walk from Afghanistan to India.

The Daily Beast’s Christopher Dickey later wrote that “[w]hether Bergdahl…just walked away from his base or was lagging behind on a patrol at the time of his capture remains an open and fiercely debated question.”

Not to me and the members of my unit.

Make no mistake: Bergdahl did not “lag behind on a patrol,” as was cited in news reports at the time. There was no patrol that night. Bergdahl was relieved from guard duty, and instead of going to sleep, he fled the outpost on foot. He deserted. I’ve talked to members of Bergdahl’s platoon—including the last Americans to see him before his capture. I’ve reviewed the relevant documents. That’s what happened.

.

Nathan Bradley Bethea, a member of his battalion, stated above that:

.

“The soldiers in 2nd Platoon, Blackfoot Company discovered his rifle, helmet, body armor and web gear in a neat stack. He had, however, taken his compass…”

.

One is prompted to question where he got the helmet pictured in the Taliban propaganda pictured above? If it wasn’t his assigned helmet, one can only hope it didn’t come from one of his unit buddies, who were killed by the Taliban in their atttempts to find him.

Army Hero MSG Mark Allen and Army Deserter Bowe Bergdahl

MSG Mark Allen and his family before injuries he obtained while searching for deserter Bowe Bergdahl.

June 3, 2014

Bowe Bergdahl deserted and lived with the Taliban for 5 years. At best he’s a deserter. From many, if not most, stories – he’s a traitor – as there are reports from Special Operations forces members already of how activity in the AOR he disappeared from suddenly got more deadly as he taught the Taliban/AQ better ways to kill US troops.

As more of the information came in, my unit, along with others in the community, simply stopped looking for him. As for the videos of Bergdahl in military and Afghan attire, we were privy to analyze and dissect all of the “unedited” video. We realized that he had vowed to help the Afghan people (meaning Taliban), and teach them tactics he had learned through his training. As for what he may have taught them, we are not sure, but we can say that American casualties and the amount of attacks in the area did increase following his capture.

Army MSG Mark Allen was another of the many soldiers on many missions who went out looking for a lost American – who went searching for a fellow soldier – but what he got for his efforts was a bullet to the brain.

MSG Allen’s wife would like people to meet her husband:

Meet my husband, injuries directly brought to you by the actions of this traitor. He can’t give an account of what went down, because he can no longer speak. Now, which guy is a ‘hero’ again?!? Sick.”

msg mark allen and family

A more detailed description of what Bergdahl’s desertion inflicted on MSG Allen and his family:

Sergeant 1st Class Mark Allen of Bravo Company, 48th Brigade Combat Team of the Georgia Army National Guard was critically wounded south of Kabul in Afghanistan on July 8, 2009. He had been in Afghanistan for one month, after serving in Iraq for nearly a year. SFC Allen was engaged in a furious firefight with the enemy when he was struck by sniper fire. The sniper’s bullet pierced his armored helmet and passed through the frontal lobe of his brain.

SFC Allen suffered a massive trauma stroke not long after sustaining the gunshot wound. A craniotomy (removing part of his skull) was immediately performed in Afghanistan to relieve pressure on his brain and make room for swelling. He was then transferred to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany the following morning where another craniotomy was performed to ensure minimal damage from swelling. The majority of his frontal lobe and part of his parietal lobe were removed to save his life. On Sunday, July 12th, he arrived at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland.

Mark is transferred to the James A Haley Veteran’s Hospital in Tampa, Florida in August of 2009. He has been rehabilitating there for more than two years. He is unable to talk or walk, and requires 24-hour care. He has limited use of his right hand, but no purposeful movement in any other extremities. Mark is very aware of his surroundings, has retained memories and recognizes his loved ones. He laughs and smiles when something is funny, he cries when he’s upset. He is able to follow commands with his right hand, hold objects, use his fingers to indicate numbers, and can correctly nod his head to answer questions most of the time.

msg mark allen

MSG Mark Allen is a hero who selflessly went out to rescue a fellow American soldier from a fanatical enemy known for beheading those they capture. He did his duty from Iraq to Afghanistan, and his life was destroyed and nearly lost on a rescue mission – a rescue mission to save a deserter who abandoned his post and sympathized with the enemy.

At least six died for the deserter Bergdahl, and many more lives were devastated, like the lives of MSG Mark Allen and his family.

Update 2: Not going to put this above MSG Allen, but worth seeing. Via Drudge, from UK Daily Mail:

A captured American soldier is training Taliban fighters bomb-making and ambush skills, according to one of his captors and Afghan intelligence officials.

Private Bowe Bergdahl disappeared in June 2009 while based in eastern Afghanistan and is thought to be the only U.S. serviceman in captivity.

The 24-year-old has converted to Islam and now has the Muslim name Abdullah, one of his captors told The Sunday Times.

A Taliban deputy district commander in Paktika, who called himself Haji Nadeem, told the newspaper that Bergdahl taught him how to dismantle a mobile phone and turn it into a remote control for a roadside bomb.

Nadeem claimed he also received basic ambush training from the U.S. soldier.

Update: Bergdahl the traitor, again.

…Afghans from a nearby village say: “There’s an American here looking for someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban.”

The search for Bergdahl put troops in a vulnerable position. Attacks increased as U.S. movements became easier for the Taliban to predict, Bergdahl’s angry fellow soldiers said, speaking out for the first time now that he had been rescued.

And of course there’s Bergdahl’s father, the radical convert, with his pro-terrorist tweets sent to terrorist website Voice of Jihad:

Update 3: Joint Chiefs is saying Bergdahl will be investigated for desertion.

Hailey, Idaho, the hometown of U.S. Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, has canceled a rally planned for June 28 celebrating his release after five years of Taliban captivity, a municipal official told Reuters on Wednesday. The cancellation came after allegations emerged that Bergdahl may have deserted his post in Afghanistan prior his capture.

According to Reuters, Heather Dawson, city administrator of Hailey, Idaho, said town officials called off the celebration at the request of organizers because the town “will be unable to safely manage the number of people expected.”

The original celebration to welcome Bergdahl home, dubbed “Bowe is Back 2014,” included appearances by folk singer Carole King, Miss Idaho Sarah Downs, and Idaho State Senator Michelle Stennett.

A parade of 1500 motorcyclists from local clubs as well as from out of state had also planned to ride through Hailey to honor Bergdahl.

Last year’s event to bring awareness to Bergdahl’s captivity brought 2500 attendees and raised money for Bergdahl and his family.

Note: The families in Hailey, Idaho obviously don’t want to honor a traitor. I feel sorry for the people of the town since they were lied to for five years – not unlike the like the rest of us.  The whole town appears to have been involved with fund-raising and support for the Bergdahl family…sad. One wonders if the parents were told, post-military investigation in 2010, that their son was a traitor…

The hunt for missing Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl left U.S. military outposts up and down the Afghanistan-Pakistan border shorthanded for months, costing eight American soldiers their lives in the Battle of Kamdesh, according to a Pentagon official.

Kamdesh was one of the bloodiest battles in America’s longest war and earned two U.S. servicemen America’s highest military decoration for bravery, the Medal of honor.

The October 3, 2009 battle was so bloody, wounding 22 Americans in addition to the eight dead, because support and additional troops were spread out over a vast search area and unavailable to relieve the remote outpost, the official told MailOnline.Wounded U.S. Army soldiers from the 10th Mountain Division are moved for evacuation in Kamdesh, Afghanistan, after suffering shrapnel wounds to their eyes and foreheads in a fire fight with Islamic militants. The bloodbath at Combat Outpost Keating, near the town of Kamdesh in Nuristan province, lasted more than 12 hours – far longer than it would have if air cover and supplemental infantry units had been available.

‘The COP Keating battle was so deadly because ISAF numbers were so low,’ the Pentagon official said, referring to the International Security Assistance Force, the generic term for the U.S.-led coalition fighters that included small numbers of soldiers from Afghanistan, Latvia and other nations.
‘And that was because so many U.S. troops were off searching for Bergdahl.’

Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, shown in a 2010 Taliban propaganda video, allegedly walked away from his post in Afghanistan on June 30, 2009, setting off a manhunt along a stretch of the Afghanistan-Pakistan border that’s hundreds of miles long

The official spoke on condition of anonymity because he is not authorized to comment publicly. An internal Pentagon report released in 2010 found that air support was late to arrive at the battle, and no ‘quick reaction force’ showed up for 13 hours. By that time, Taliban fighters had pushed through fences and overrun the facility, killing or wounding more than half of the U.S. personnel at the site and laying waste to most of the base.

American forces abandoned the outpost days later, but had to bomb its remains from above in order to prevent the Taliban from carrying away the last of the live ammunition that it had once housed.

Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid bragged to the Associated Press at the time that ‘this is another victory for Taliban. We have control of another district in eastern Afghanistan. Right now Kamdesh is under our control, and the white flag of the Taliban is raised above Kamdesh.’

On that same day, President Barack Obama was announced as the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.

The Pentagon report noted that the outpost itself had ‘no tactical or strategic value,’ and that it was slated to be eventually abandoned – an outcome that the loss of life dramatically accelerated.

‘It’s beyond a doubt that we could have held COP Keating and inflicted even greater enemy casualties if we had had the air support we needed there, but the Bergdahl hunt spread everyone really thin,’ the Defense Department official said.

‘It’s also highly likely that the loss of life on the U.S. side would have been far less.’

Two staff sergeants, Clinton Romesha and Ty Carter, were awarded the Medal of Honor for their bravery in defending COP Keating.
Romesha ‘wouldn’t have had to put him and his men into the meat grinder of RPGs and B-10 rifle fire,’ the official said, if so many resources hadn’t been re-tasked to hunt for Bergdahl.

Bergdahl’s apparent desertion from his post in Paktika province set off a chain reaction of military reassignments stretching all along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as the Army commanders sought to recover him before he could be harmed or used as a bargaining chip.

President Barack Obama secured his return on Saturday, nearly five years later, by releasing five high-ranking Taliban terrorists from the U.S. detention camp at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

Gerald Sutton, a former Army infantryman who served in Bergdahl’s platoon, said Monday that while the Idaho native’s desertion put his own unit at grave risk, countless others also had to shoulder the burden.

‘I felt like I was in immediate danger all the time’ after Bergdahl left, Sutton said. ‘All of us did. We were sent out for about 30 to 35 days straight looking for him.’

‘And there were plenty of other people. I mean, the complete 501st [Infantry Regiment] was pulled out of there to search.’

‘People lost resources that were in the Korengal Valley,’ Sutton continued, before bringing up the name ‘Clint Romesha’ and the battle that raged at COP Keating.

‘Those guys didn’t have the complete support they needed at the time,’ he said, ‘because all the assets and everything were diverted to us.’

That redistribution of military men and materiel was par for the course after Bergdahl vanished.

All units up and down the border in eastern Afghanistan were tasked with the Bergdahl hunt,’ a Middle East expert who was in-country repeatedly during the U.S. fighting there told MailOnline.

And ‘counterinsurgency operations up and down the border were curtailed in order to hunt for Bergdahl. It was an all hands on deck kind of thing.’

In particular, he said, air support – which arrived late at COP Keating – was lacking on the front lines. ‘The shortage was helicopters,’ he said. ‘If you direct all helicopters into a search you cut off the forward operating bases.’

Ssgt. Carter’s Medal of Honor citation captures the chaotic scene, recalling how soldiers ‘awakened to an attack of an estimated 300 enemy fighters occupying the high ground on all four sides of Combat Outpost Keating, employing concentrated fire from recoilless rifles, rocket propelled grenades, anti-aircraft machine guns, mortars and small arms fire.’

When President Obama presented the Medal of Honor to Carter, he described the attack that left eight American personnel dead.

‘Fifty-three American soldiers were suddenly surrounded by more than 300 Taliban fighters,’ the president said at the White House on August 26, 2013. ‘The outpost was being slammed from every direction – machine gunfire, rocket-propelled grenades, mortars, sniper fire.’

‘It was chaos – the blizzard of bullets and steel.’

Obama didn’t mention why help was late in coming that day, but the Pentagon official who spoke with MailOnline filled in the gaps.

‘It’s simple,’ he said: ‘We lost eight good soldiers because someone wanted to go look for a single rotten one.’ dailymail.co.uk

.

A few hi-lights from the article:

  • “The October 3, 2009 battle was so bloody, wounding 22 Americans in addition to the eight dead, because support and additional troops were spread out over a vast search area and unavailable to relieve the remote outpost, the official told MailOnline.”
  • “Bergdahl’s apparent desertion from his post in Paktika province set off a chain reaction of military reassignments stretching all along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border as the Army commanders sought to recover him before he could be harmed or used as a bargaining chip.”
  • “‘I felt like I was in immediate danger all the time’ after Bergdahl left, Sutton said. ‘All of us did. We were sent out for about 30 to 35 days straight looking for him.’”
  • “‘And there were plenty of other people. I mean, the complete 501st [Infantry Regiment] was pulled out of there to search.’”
  • “All units up and down the border in eastern Afghanistan were tasked with the Bergdahl hunt,’ a Middle East expert who was in-country repeatedly during the U.S. fighting there told MailOnline.”
  • “And ‘counterinsurgency operations up and down the border were curtailed in order to hunt for Bergdahl. It was an all hands on deck kind of thing.’”
  • “Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid bragged to the Associated Press at the time that ‘this is another victory for Taliban.” On that same day, President Barack Obama was announced as the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.
  • “‘It’s beyond a doubt that we could have held COP Keating and inflicted even greater enemy casualties if we had had the air support we needed there, but the Bergdahl hunt spread everyone really thin,’ the Defense Department official said. ‘It’s also highly likely that the loss of life on the U.S. side would have been far less.’”

October, 2009: V-day for Obama and the Taliban: “On that same day, President Barack Obama was announced as the winner of the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize.”

.

How many troops overall were killed or wounded because of Bergdahl’s defection will never be known.

How many troops in total were killed or wounded to capture the five Taliban terrorists is  incalculable.

A deserter just runs away. A defector goes over to the other side and fights against his country. A traitor is a person who betrays a friend, country, principle…

Is Bergdahl a defector, or a deserter?

Note: Returning five top enemy Taliban terrorists over to an enemy who hasn’t surrendered is giving aid to the enemy!!!

  • A public welcome home celebration featuring Grammy-winning singer Carole King in honor of freed POW Bowe Bergdahl in the tiny town of Hailey, Idaho was abruptly cancelled today.
  • The official reason given was a concern for public safety, but MailOnline has learned that it was not the only reason the party was scrubbed.
  • Today’s decision follows a row that erupted in Hailey between Mayor Fritz Haemmerle and US Army Platoon Commander Jonathan Kennedy, who lives in Hailey.

Bowe is back: But he has become a lightning rod for controversy as some, including people in his hometown, believe he is an Army deserter - or worse
Never forgotten: A plaque marks four trees that have been planted at Hop Porter Park in Hailey, Idaho, to commemorate each anniversary of Bowe Bergdahl's captivity

The pros: ‘Past celebrations have focused on bringing this soldier home. Regardless of the character of the men and women who choose to serve, we do not leave our soldiers behind,’ said the town’s mayor Fritz Haemmerle [MC -Fritz uses Obama's talking points]

And Kennedy wasn’t the only towns person who voiced disapproval of a celebration for the soldier under fire.

Mayor Haemmerle wanted to throw a welcome home party for Bergdahl, who has been released after five years as a Taliban hostage.

But since claims of Bergdahl’s alleged desertion in Afghanistan and the political fallout surrounding his return, the mayor’s office has been inundated with calls and emails in opposition to the plans.

The Army tank platoon commander weighed in and said a public ceremony to celebrate Bergdahl’s return would be a ‘monstrous profanity’.

In an email to Mayor Haemmerle – seen by MailOnline – former US Army platoon leader Jonathan Kennedy said: ‘If Individual members of the community wish to hold sedate, private celebrations to commemorate Bowe Bergdahl’s homecoming, they are of course free and welcome to do so.

Commander Kennedy is one heck of a writer! :)

Note to the Mayor – our troops remain on the ground in Afghanistan therefore no one is being left behind except unfortunately some body parts of troops which couldn’t be found. And since Bergdahl was looking well and hearty at his handover (unlike six/eight of his fellow soldiers, and many seriously wounded in their search for him) he could have stayed a little longer with the Taliban, especially since it was he who sought them out. Whether Bergdahl is a deserter or a defector-traitor remains to be proven either way he didn’t appear to be harmed by his Taliban “captors” rather he appears to have been treated well since the Taliban are known for beheading their captors.

Bottomline: The Taliban are constantly looking for money, a few million from Obama and/or one of the sheiks from Qatar would have gotten this deserter released five years ago. At least it wouldn’t have aided them as much as releasing five top Taliban terrorists.

Bergdahl’s Taliban Collaboration ‘As Serious As You Can Imagine’

 June 4, 2014 | Brendan Bordelon

Fox News reporter James Rosen claimed intelligence sources have told him not only that Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl willingly collaborated with the Taliban, but that his involvement with the terrorist group may be “as serious as you can imagine.”

Rosen spoke with Bill O’Reilly Wednesday night about his ongoing conversations with intelligence and Pentagon officials regarding both old and new investigations into Bergdahl’s likely desertion and possibly treasonous activities.

“My reporting has shown that the intelligence community also undertook a separate [from the Army] investigation of Sgt. Bergdahl,” Rosen explained, “both his final period of active duty that culminated in that mysterious evening, and also his conduct over the past five years, which is said to have been a period of captivity.”

“Alright, now why would — you say the intelligence, I assume that’s defense intelligence, the CIA, all those people — why would they bother investigating a sergeant who was taken captive?” O’Reilly asked. “I mean, why would they spend those resources?”

“Well, with greatest proximity, because they were tasked with doing so,” Rosen responded cagily. “But my reporting on this is that there are many inside the intelligence community who harbor outstanding concerns not just that Sgt. Bergdahl may have been a deserter, but that he became an active collaborator with the enemy.”

The reporter reiterated information regarding Bergdahl’s emails, the packing up of his personal effects, his failure to take certain equipment with him before he left his post and “anecdotal evidence” from Taliban commanders — including how Bergdahl taught Islamist fighters how to reprogram a mobile phone into an IED.

“The last thing I will tell you is — I’m still working on this story, I’m talking to a broad range of sources in and out of the government, in and out of the military,” Rosen explained. “And all I will say is, there are many forms that active collaboration can take. I’m investigating claims that it could go as serious as you could imagine.”

Bergdahl’s former Army Sgt. Evan Buetow got it right -

“Many soldiers in Bergdahl’s platoon said attacks seemed to increase against the United States in Paktika province in the days and weeks following his disappearance. “Following his disappearance, IEDs started going off directly under the trucks. They were getting perfect hits every time. Their ambushes were very calculated, very methodical,” said Buetow.” Source

140603152914-lead-intv-evan-buetow-bowe-bergdahl-team-leader-horizontal-galleryFormer Army Sgt. Evan Buetow was the team leader with Bowe Bergdah lthe night Bergdahl disappeared.

“Bergdahl is a deserter, and he’s not a hero,” says Buetow. “He needs to answer for what he did.” Within days of his disappearance, says Buetow, teams monitoring radio chatter and cell phone communications intercepted an alarming message: The American is in Yahya Khel (a village two miles away). He’s looking for someone who speaks English so he can talk to the Taliban. “I heard it straight from the interpreter’s lips as he heard it over the radio,” said Buetow. “There’s a lot more to this story than a soldier walking away.” The Army will review the case of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl “in a comprehensive, coordinated effort,” Secretary of the Army John McHugh said Tuesday. The review will include speaking with Bergdahl “to better learn from him the circumstances of his disappearance and captivity,” he said.

The night Bergdahl disappeared, says Buetow, the platoon was at a small outpost, consisting of two bunkers and a perimeter of military trucks. Buetow was in one of the bunkers, and Bergdahl was supposed to be in a tent by one of the trucks. Then a call came through on the radio. “I’ll never forget that line, ‘Has anyone seen Bergdahl?’” says Buetow. Firsthand accounts from soldiers in his platoon say Bergdahl disappeared while he was on guard duty. Buetow says Bergdahl was about to go on guard duty, but when a fellow soldier went to wake him, he was not in his tent. He had left behind his weapons, his bullet-proof vest, and night vision gear. “I immediately knew, I said, ‘He walked away. He walked away,’” said Buetow.

Bergdahl walked off the observation post with nothing more than a compass, a knife, water, a digital camera and a diary, according to firsthand accounts from soldiers in his platoon. Buetow was involved in the immediate search for Bergdahl, pushing a patrol into a nearby local village. “Immediately as we left the base, two small boys walked up to us, and they told us that they saw an American crawling in the weeds by himself,” said the former Army sergeant. The search followed that lead, and others, for months. “For 60 days or more, I remember, just straight, all we did was search for Bergdahl,” said Buetow, “essentially chasing a ghost because we never came up with anything.”

4565464564

At least six soldiers were killed in subsequent searches for him, according to soldiers involved in those operations. The Pentagon was not able to provide details on specific operations in which any soldiers were killed during that time were involved. Buetow says even though those operations were not “directed missions” to search for Bergdahl, there was an underlying premise of acting on intelligence to find the missing soldier. “The fact of the matter is, when those soldiers were killed, they would not have been where they were at if Bergdahl hadn’t left,” says Buetow. “Bergdahl leaving changed the mission.” Many soldiers in Bergdahl’s platoon said attacks seemed to increase against the United States in Paktika province in the days and weeks following his disappearance. “Following his disappearance, IEDs started going off directly under the trucks. They were getting perfect hits every time. Their ambushes were very calculated, very methodical,” said Buetow.

It was “very suspicious,” says Buetow, noting that Bergdahl knew sensitive information about the movement of U.S. trucks, the weaponry on those trucks, and how soldiers would react to attacks. “We were incredibly worried” that Bergdahl was giving up information, either under torture, or otherwise, says Buetow. President Barack Obama said Tuesday that no matter what the circumstances of an American soldier’s capture, the United States has a duty to get him or her back. “It’s great that he’s back and that we can have that very small victory, if you can even call it a victory. Because I believe what we gave up for that – we gave up a lot for what we got back,” says Buetow.

Leaked Cable Describes The Mad Scramble To Find Former POW Bowe Bergdahl When He Walked Off

A field report made public through Wikileaks’ Afghan War Diaries disclosures provides a raw account of the first hours of the search for then-private Bowe Bergdahl, and includes initial Taliban and U.S. accounts of his behavior the night he was captured.

“Geronimo reported a B Co missing soldier after he did not show up for the 0900 morning roll call at Mest OP, grid 42SVB 59236 47877 Yahya Khail District, Paktika. A full search was ordered,” the report begins, noting that “all remaining units had reported 100% accountability.” Forty minutes later, “Pathfinder and tracking dog team arrived at Mest OP in support,” and the search was on.

Searchers first verified that Bergdahl was in fact off-post:

All vehicles, latrines, bunders, and ANP facilities are to be searched. Both in Mest and Sharan.” Aircraft were soon mobilized when it was clear what the searchers were up against: “Also have reaper, shadow, predator, guardrail, AWT, and CAS enroute to assist in the search.”

Soon, low-level voice intercept (LLVI) yielded a cryptic glimpse into Bergdahl’s actions the hours before his capture. An American soldier with a camera had reportedly been wandering around off-base, behaving suspiciously: Guardianrail reports picked up LLVI traffic at Grid VB 6597 3366 that states…that an American soldier is talking and looking for someone who speaks English. Indicates American soldier  has a camera.

On July 1st, a day after Bergdahl’s disappearance, LLVI picked up Taliban members talking about the Army private’s capture. Their account suggests that Bergdahl was unarmed, and captured in a somewhat vulnerable position:

“1- We were attacking the post he was sitting taking expletive he had no gun with him. He was taking expletive, he has not cleaned his butt yet. 2- What [shame] for them.”

The Taliban militants even seemed surprised at the scope of the search:

” 2-Yes look they have all Americans, [Afghan National Army] Helicopters the planes are looking for him. 1- I think he is big shot that why they are looking for him. 3-You guys make a video of him and announce it all over Afghanistan that we have one of the Americans.  1- We already have a video of him.”

Two days after Bergdahl’s capture, the Taliban communicated their terms of release, and American forces were assured that the captured soldier was alive:

“The Elders were asked by the Taliban to a Trade between the U.S. and Taliban. The Taliban [terms] are 15 of their Taliban Brothers in U.S. Jail and some money in exchange for PVT Bergdahl. The Elders assured me that is alive and that he is not being harmed.”

It would be another five years before the U.S. authorized a prisoner swap, exchanging five high-value Guantanamo Bay detainees for Bergdahl’s freedom.

Update: Bergdahl declared jihad in captivity, secret documents show

U.S. Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl at one point during his captivity converted to Islam, fraternized openly with his captors and declared himself a “mujahid,” or warrior for Islam, according to secret documents prepared on the basis of a purported eyewitness account and obtained by Fox News.

The reports indicate that Bergdahl’s relations with his Haqqani captors morphed over time, from periods of hostility, where he was treated very much like a hostage, to periods where, as one source told Fox News, “he became much more of an accepted fellow” than is popularly understood. He even reportedly was allowed to carry a gun at times.

The reports are rich in on-the-ground detail — including the names and locations of the Haqqani commanders who ran the 200-man rotation used to guard the Idaho native — and present the most detailed view yet of what Bergdahl’s life over the past five years has been like. These real-time dispatches were generated by the Eclipse Group, a shadowy private firm of former intelligence officers and operatives that has subcontracted with the Defense Department and prominent corporations to deliver granular intelligence on terrorist activities and other security-related topics, often from challenging environments in far-flung corners of the globe.

The group is run by Duane R. (“Dewey”) Clarridge, a former senior operations officer for the Central Intelligence Agency in the 1980s best known for having been indicted for lying to Congress about his role in the tangled set of events that became known as the Iran-Contra scandal. He was pardoned by the first President Bush in December 1992 while on trial.

Clarridge counts a number of achievements in his spy career as well, including a prominent role in the establishment of a national counterrorism center at CIA, a move widely copied around the world by foreign intelligence agencies. A New York Times profile of Clarridge published in January 2011 disclosed the contractual relationship Eclipse had with the Pentagon, through subcontractors, and reported further that Clarridge’s activities had included efforts to help find Bergdahl.

Clarridge told Fox News his group enjoyed a subcontract through the assistant Secretary of Defense for Special Operations and Low-Intensity Conflict from November 2009 through May 31, 2010, and that after the contract was terminated, he invested some $50,000 of his own money to maintain the elaborate network of informants and handlers that had yielded such detailed accounts of Bergdahl’s status.

Clarridge further told Fox News that by the end of 2010, he had furnished at least 13 of these detailed SITREPs, or situation reports, that his network generated about Bergdahl to Brig. Gen. Robert P. Ashley Jr., who in April 2010 was named director of intelligence, at the J-2 level, at U.S. Central Command, or CENTCOM, headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida.

Clarridge said Eclipse SITREP # 3023, dated Aug. 23, 2012 — in which a member of the Haqqani network, said to be close to Bergdahl’s captors, reported that the American prisoner had declared himself a “mujahid” — was among the reports provided to Ashley.

The latter is now commanding general at the U.S. Army Intelligence Center of Excellence and Fort Huachuca, where a message left with the public affairs office was not immediately returned.

The documents obtained by Fox News show that Eclipse developed and transmitted numerous status reports on the whereabouts of the errant American soldier, spanning a period from October 2009, roughly three months after Bergdahl reportedly walked off his base in Afghanistan and fell into custody of the Haqqani network, up through August 2012.

At one point — in late June 2010, after Bergdahl succeeded in one of his escape attempts — the Haqqani commanders constructed a special metal cage for him, and confined him to it. At other points, however, Bergdahl was reported to be happily playing soccer with the Haqqani fighters, taking part in AK-47 target practice and being permitted to carry a firearm of his own, laughing frequently and proclaiming “Salaam,” the Arabic word for “peace.”

Reached by telephone, retired U.S. Marine Corps Gen. James N. Mattis, a 45-year service veteran who served as CENTCOM commander from August 2010 to August 2012, told Fox News he may have received bits and pieces of the intelligence generated by Eclipse, but said Ashley, with whom he maintained a close working relationship, had not forwarded on to him the specific SITREPs cited by Fox News.

Mattis was also adamant that no one at CENTCOM or within the broader U.S. military or intelligence community — despite intensive investigation of such allegations — ever learned of anything to suggest Bergdahl had evolved into an active collaborator with the Haqqani network or the Taliban. “We were always looking for actionable intelligence,” Mattis said. “It wasn’t just the IC [intelligence community]. We had tactical units that were involved in the fight. We had SIGINT. Any collaborators who were on the other side and who came over to our side. We kept an eye on this. … There was never any evidence of collaboration.”

Fox News reported on Monday that Bergdahl was the subject of a “major classified file” prepared by the U.S. intelligence community, and that many members of that community harbored concerns that Bergdahl, during his period of captivity, may have engaged in collaboration with the enemy.

Experts consulted by Fox News said that SITREP # 3023 presents a picture of an American captive who, if not an active collaborator, may have succumbed to Stockholm Syndrome — the dynamic by which hostages can become enamored of their captors and join their cause — or simply feigned allegiance in order to survive. The report cited a source new to Eclipse — a member of the Haqqani network said to be close to Mullah Sangeen, the Haqqani commander charged at all points over the last five years with operational custody and control of Bergdahl — whose trustworthiness had not been fully vetted by the group. However, the report stated, the informant “does have plausible access to the information reported below, and claims to have seen Bergdahl personally in Shawal,” in North Waziristan.

“In the early stages Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl’s captivity,” the report states, “he was held at Palasin, Naurak, FATA [Federally Administered Tribal Areas], under the control of Mullah Sangeen and under the direct supervision of Haji Mursaleem, Sangeen’s father. Conditions and locality changed after Mursaleem died [in September 2010], and Bergdahl was kept under tight guard after his attempted escape from his new place of detention in Shawal.

“As of August 2012,” the report continues, “the person with responsibility for Bergdahl’s captivity is Sangeen’s brother, who has delegated the actual guarding of Bergdahl to Abubakr Asadkhel, a Burra Khel Wazir loyal to Sangeen, and whose sub-tribe lives in Shawal. Abubakr leads approximately 200 armed men from his tribe and operates from five bases (markaz) in Shawal. … Abubakr’s tribe is one of the prosperous branches of the Wazir and owns lots of trucks. Abubakr circulates his prisoner between schools in the area he controls, and his different insurgent bases.”

Conditions for Bergdahl have greatly relaxed since the time of the escape. Bergdahl has converted to Islam and now describes himself as a mujahid. Bergdahl enjoys a modicum of freedom, and engages in target practice with the local mujahedeen, firing AK47s. Bergdahl is even allowed to carry a loaded gun on occasion. Bergdahl plays soccer with his guards and bounds around the pitch like a mad man. He appears to be well and happy, and has a noticeable habit of laughing frequently and saying ‘Salaam’ repeatedly.

At other points, the SITREPs depict a much nastier relationship between Bergdahl and his captors. In July 2010, Eclipse SITREPs based on confidential talks with Afghan Taliban commanders reported that “the original command structure for the responsibility of holding the captured soldier remains intact.”

Overall responsibility for the captive is in the hands of Haqqani commander Sangeen, with Bandiwan, one of his deputies, responsible for making the detailed arrangements. There are two locations where the soldier is kept: one in Degan and the other in Shawal, North Waziristan. When in Degan he is kept in the compound of Eid Wale, a local Dawr who is close to Sangeen and is a chromite dealer. The other location is at Shawal. The

confirmed that the soldier had been missing for five days and when he was recovered, he was a little worse from wear (lack of food; a bit slimmer) but otherwise in good health.

But an earlier dispatch stated that after his re-capture, on or about June 22, 2010, Bergdahl was “in ill-health, and has been collapsing.”A SITREP dated one week before Bergdahl’s ill-fated escape attempt placed him in the Bazaar area of Miramshah, and noted that “he seemed not to be tightly controlled.”

The Eclipse reports suggest that negotiations over Bergdahl’s fate began within a few months after his capture. An October 2009 SITREP disclosed that Sirajuddin Haqqani, the Pashtun warlord controlling the broader network that bears his name, had reached out through Pakistani political contacts to propose a prisoner swap. A July 2010 SITREP stated that two months prior, in late May, “negotiations between the Haqqani and representatives of the missing US soldier collapsed.” At that point, the report said, Bergdahl was moved to a more secure location.

The New York Times, in its 2011 profile of Clarridge, described his agents’ dispatches as “an amalgam of fact, rumor, analysis and uncorroborated reports.” The fabled ex-spook made the more than one dozen SITREPs that Eclipse prepared on the Bergdahl case — all previously unpublished — available to Fox News because he wanted to demonstrate, as he put it: “We know what we’re talking about.”

Muslim Brotherhood Threatens EU Not to Recognize Egypt’s New President

By on June 5, 2014in From The Arab World

The Muslim Brotherhood international wing has reportedly sent a threatening note to several European Union states—including Britain, France, and Germany—demanding that they not recognize Abdel Fateh al-Sisi’s landslide presidential victory in Egypt.

An excerpt from the statement follows:

There is no legitimacy to a regime that has been rejected by its people, and based on the principles you profess, it is necessary that you not acknowledge or cooperate with regimes which you of all people know are illegitimate. So if you insist on acknowledging and cooperating with him, then judgment between you and us will be left to the people—who will never forgive you.

Interestingly, the “regime that has been rejected by its people” is none other than the Muslim Brotherhood and former president Muhammad Morsi, who were ousted in the June 2013 revolution, when reportedly tens of millions took to the streets, in what has been described as the largest revolution recorded in human history.

Note also the final and not so veiled threat, that “if you insist on acknowledging and cooperating with him, then judgment between you and us will be left to the people—who will never forgive you.”

Which “people” will never forgive Europe? Surely not the millions who voted for Sisi. Clearly, this is a reference to the “people” of the Muslim Brotherhood and their allies, who, as precedent showed in Egypt after they were overthrown, resort to terrorism when they don’t get what they want.

Not less than 15,000 Egyptians are celebrating his victory in Tahrir square. It is not fully packed but the TV cameras are zooming out. All TV channels are cheering for the new president. Since early morning army units closed Tahrir square in front of traffic where big stages were set up in order to celebrate El-Sisi’s victory. Similar stages are set up in major squares in big cities in Egypt. I wonder how much the cost for such big and fancy celebration.

.
Cables are coming from the Arab countries , KSA is first of course followed by UAE. KSA is calling for an international economic conference to aid Egypt economically, I wonder if Hamdeen Sabahi won , would the Kingdom call for such conference !?
The newly elected president addressed the Nation shortly after the result in a recorded video message saluting the people , the police and the army as well his rival Sabbahi. El-Sisi praised the glorious Jan25 Revolution which his supporters curse day and night. He also told Egyptians to work to rebuild Egypt.

Congratulation to the Egyptian people. I wish them well and am happy they don’t have the NATO backed Muslim Brotherhood (and their military wing al-Qaeda and other salifist groups) as their government leaders. Let’s hope the USA can follow suit in our next election.

Here is ousted president Hosni Mubarak wearing for the first time the blue suite as a sign of being convicted prison behind bars early Saturday morning in the Police academy court.

Ousted Mubarak was convicted of embezzling public funds in the “Egyptian Presidency palaces” case along his two sons Gamal and Alaa Mubarak.
To know more about this case “The case of Egyptian Presidency’s palaces” , I urge you to read this fantastic investigative by report made by Hossam Bahgat “Arabic version” in Mada Masr and spread it as well. Bahgat included in his amazing report a copy from the Mubaraks’ purchases in that case. By the way mainstream media in Egypt ignored this important report except Youm 7 which plagiarized it !!

.
Officially Mubarak is the first president of Egypt to be convicted of such crime and will be the first living ex-president of Egypt to be officially imprisoned.

.
Mubarak is currently standing the re-trial of the killing of the protesters in the early 18 days of the Egyptian revolution in 2011. It is likely that he will be acquitted.
Personally I believe this man should stand a trial for destroying Egypt politically , socially and economically. For 30 years this man had an opportunity to make out of Egypt something but in the end after 25 January revolution and what followed it , I believe that we need something like Noah’s flood to cleanse his regime, his media as well his cartoonish opposition in order to start clean, to start building a true modern civil state.
His regime left him as expected and is kneeling down to the new pharaoh who is building its new regime.

لأول مرة.. مبارك ونجلاه فى القفص بالبدلة الزرقاء خلال محاكمة “القرن” – Sada El-Balad : Mubarak appears in blue suit.
Here is a video from Pro-Mubarak regime channel “Sada El-Balad” showing him and his son in the cage. I wonder if “Sada El-Balad” TV hosts are going to be mad because of this scene or there is a new master , a new idol they busy showing their loyalty now.

[@Y0utube] – Sada El-Balad : Mubarak appears in blue suit.Of course he is not wearing the tradition prison blue suit. As you can see he is wearing a strips shirt. By the way I do not think that Mubarak has been transferred to Tora Prison complex like his his sons or he is still enjoying the five stars treatment of Maadi military hospital.

The Mubarak administration fought against the IMF-BCCI, WB, and Western nonprofits.
